Focus on core chassis components of mini excavators

With the advancement of global urbanization and the release of demand for small-scale projects, the demand for mini excavators has surged due to their flexibility and convenience. The chassis serves as the “walking foundation” of these machines, and the performance of its four core components – track rollers, idlers, support rollers, and tooth rings – determines the equipment’s operational efficiency. Currently, the localization rate of chassis components for mini excavators in China exceeds 90%. With the boom in equipment exports, these core components have been widely used in many countries and regions around the world.

The four major components each perform their respective functions and work together synergistically: the support rollers bear the weight of the entire machine and evenly distribute it to the track, preventing subsidence on soft ground; the guide rollers guide the direction of the track and adjust its tension, preventing deviation and chain jumping; the carrier rollers support the upper part of the track, reducing vibration and wear, ensuring smooth power transmission; the gear ring transmits power by engaging with the track, driving the equipment to move, and is the core of power.

Globally, the countries where these chassis components are most widely used are concentrated in Europe, America, and the Asia-Pacific region. The United States, as a core global market, saw a deployment of over 48,000 mini excavators in 2023, primarily for residential renovation and municipal maintenance. European countries such as Germany and France, with strict environmental regulations and a mature rental market, have a robust demand for chassis components. Japan, as the birthplace of high-end mini excavators, has high adaptability requirements for chassis components, with application scenarios covering agriculture and urban precision construction. Furthermore, Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia and Thailand, as well as many countries in Africa, have become regions with the fastest growth rate in chassis component applications, driven by infrastructure and agricultural needs. Chinese-branded chassis components occupy a significant share due to their high cost-effectiveness.
